Who doesn’t love Messiah now? Come on… its tradition. This concert used mostly undergrad soloists for each movement selection, so two mics were on stage with reinforcement. I also thought it was weird having THAT many singers, and only THAT many orchestra members. 
Also… don’t leave bleachers outside during an ice storm and expect them to thaw nicely. I woke up at 6am with my boss to hang microphone and got to watch 4 hours of ice chipping in between other sorts of morning happenings. I can’t believe how much work can go into making the stage look how it does - something not many people appreciate and most take for granted.
