Interlochen - Corson Hall
The Chapel, Kresge and Corson:
The Chapel is a venue for small recitals, made of wood with a big organ and a small recording rig (stereo KM84's in Blumlein).
Kresge is the largest hall. An outdoor covered venue with a longer reverberation time and looks out onto the water. Approx. 4,000 seats covered in a wooden roof, with a 'portable' installed sound system, with a recording room on stage left. Mics are hung on a pulley system. Wind is a slight problem, but only at certain times of the day.
Corson is the only indoor theater space at Interlochen. The others are outdoors used during the big summer camp every year. While there is room for additional microphones, the standard was a spaced pair of B&K4006's hanging above the stage. The hall has acoustic curtains in the catwalks for [closed] sound dampening during reinforced concerts or [open] for more open acoustics.
